Brought up on the island of O’ahu, Brendan represented Hawai’i eight times in the PGA Club Professional Championships and was recently named 2019 Golf Professional of the Year – Aloha Section. As a coach, he specializes in his short game instruction and game management, getting to know his students not only as golfers but also as athletes, to ensure they learn how to manage their game and produce the lowest possible scorecards.

Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Scott moved to Hawai’i in 1990, receiving his PGA membership in 1993 and immersing himself in the Hawaiian golf community. As a teaching professional he aims to grow the game of golf by spreading his passion for the sport. He lives by the teaching philosophy: “one swing fits one,” which acknowledges the unique abilities of each individual, encouraging them to have fun while playing the game. He believes that confidence is an important step in achieving success.

After a year as a golf cart attendant, Jake joined Hualālai as Apprentice Golf Professional before being promoted to Assistant Pro in 2006, and Head Golf Pro in 2016. He specializes in swings and ball flights, believing that once you can adjust your swing to create a certain ball flight or shape, the game gets easier. He helps students understand their swing so they can improve their distance and learn how to place their body and arms to target the ball to exactly where they want it to land.

Ryan Coyle

Originally from Middleton, Wisconsin, Ryan attended Mississippi State University for their PGA Golf Management Program. In fall of 2009, he was awarded the Paul Runyan Scholarship which recognizes the top graduate among all of the 20 PGA Golf Management Universities. As a PGA Member since 2010, Ryan has honed his craft as a Golf Professional at Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove, Minnesota, Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand and The Club at Hokulia here on the Big Island. His instruction philosophy is the we do not hit the ball with our back swing, so focus is on impact and helping students find the best way for them to achieve flush contact.

After joining the apprentice program back in 2000, Matt took up the role of Assistant Golf Professional at Four Seasons Resort Hualālai in 2002. His speciality lies in fostering junior players; teaching them not only how to love the game of golf, but also to appreciate the sport as a lifestyle and not just a hobby. His background in elementary education allows him to connect and communicate with this age group, helping students get excited about all aspects of the game of golf and growing its popularity.

Kacey Coyle

Originally from Northern Minnesota, Kacey moved to Kona, Hawaii in 2014 after gaining additional golf professional experience in New Zealand and joined the Hualalai team in 2021 as Assistant Golf Professional. She is currently enrolled in the PGA PGM program working towards completing her Class A PGA membership. Her specialties include perfecting consistent short game, generating junior interest in the game though fun and encouragement, and the positive mental side of the game of golf. She strongly believes confidence and enjoyment in the game leads to exciting advancements and the will to improve.
